Years, as he is in his third season with the Habs.... Guess we will just continue to listen to reporters and insiders about Anderson's value instead of random people spending their days on Capfriendly ..... I mean people on here have never been wrong about Habs player values, right?

Pacioretty isn't getting a good return, to old
Ben Chairot will never get a first
Lehkonen at most is a 2nd round pick
They'll be stuck with that Weber contract forever

Sure though, every person who works as an insider is wrong, Habs fans are dumb and people on this site know best

I said none of those things. I said Chiarot could get a late 1st. I thought Habs would keep Lehkonen. Not sure I ever had an opinion on Weber or Pacioretty.

Habs fans also expected the moon for Petry.

Anderson, due to contract, will be more like Petry.

Because they've been looking for that type of player for years, and as soon as they'll trade him they'll be looking for another one unless Slafkovsky quickly emerges as a high-end power forward. It's not made up, the Habs received solid offers at last year's TDL and GMs keep asking about Anderson's availability, but they didn't capitalize although I wish they did. I don't think his value is as high as some of my Habs colleagues say it is, but I could bet it's higher than most fans of other teams say.

Both can be true. They could be getting interest from other teams. Even significant interest.

But I imagine those deals have ways to water down his cap hit, either through retention or by sending back a contract (similar to Petry/Matheson deal). Devils don’t have a lot of dead weight on their roster since our team is so young and our GM likes short-term contracts. So it would have to be retention for us. But other teams may be offering more with guys like Foegele, Coyle, Kassian, Pearson, etc attached.

Petry wanted out and made that clear, this is dealing from a position of strength with Anderson. You want him, which apparently for whatever reason teams do, then they'd have to pay for him

And I know you didn't directly say those things, just what I have heard hundreds of times on here

Well, you can probably count on Chuck Fletcher to prove Habs fans right.

Habs fans have been saying that for years, yet, there he is, still there in Montreal lineup.

They said Petry was worth Bourque and a second too 🙄
