I'd rather have Kerfoot and the expiring cap. No need for the Leafs to take on bad contracts like Anderson's.

Insane overpay for Anderson, insane underpay for Fabbro.

Anderson is not worth one of Toronto's best prospects or a '23 1st, let alone both of them in the same deal. It ties up $5M AAV over the next 4 years in a player that does not produce - he's scored at a 36 pts/82 GP pace since joining Montreal, and it's not like he's not getting put in a position to succeed - he's averaged 1:56 per night on the PP since joining the Habs. Until he can consistently turn his talents into actual results, he's not worth any sort of premium assets - not at that cap hit.

-Fabbro, meanwhile, is still only 24 and has RFA control left. I think he's regressed some this year but he's been a solid RD2 the past few years for the Preds, and I can't see them just selling low on him after 25 mediocre games. Robertson hasn't shown much of anything at the NHL level yet, Gogolev is basically a lottery ticket ECHL prospect at this point, and Justin Holl is probably the best asset you're sending to the Preds. I'd also argue that Holl's been playing well enough that I'd rather keep him around and add to your depth instead of having Jordie Benn & Connor Timmins be your next guys up if someone gets hurt.

Gotta say it....the worse trade this season posted for Anderson. He's not a 5m player never mind giving up good futures. Fabbro's nice but so is Holl this year. No way McCarron is worth really anything

I'll counter the anderson offer:

half eaten slice of pizza, and a dirty sock for Anderson 50% retained. Then Habs pay another team to double retention. And then Habs throw in a fresh pizza and some new socks.

Deal?

idk about the Holl>Robertson take in terms of value, but I agree about Holls value to the team, especially of late.

Robertson is so tough for me to figure out now. I don't know why they just don't let him play top line minutes on the Marlies instead of jerking him in and out of the lineup for bottom-6 minutes. For me, the biggest hurdle with Robertson proving his prospect value is proving his durability, even if it's in the AHL - he played 27 combined games in 20-21 and 38 last year. I think you can probably get the same 12 minutes a night from Adam Gaudette or Joey Anderson at the NHL level and let Robertson get 20 minutes a night in the A without hurting the NHL team at all.

And yeah, Holl has proven to be very valuable this year and any trade for a Dman should be adding to their depth, not trading him away for an incremental upgrade.

yea. In fairness to Robertson, it's a very competitive time to crack the Leafs - Keefe doesn't play forwards who can't be fully trusted on both sides of the puck, which is quite common for young offensive wingers to be a bit behind on, and it's just an unfortunate timing when the stakes are so high. His injuries have also very much been freak accidents, not necessarily attributed to how he's built or his play style. But I get it.

Holl is very valuable until he's not - so wildly inconsistent over the past few years it drives me nuts. Some month stretches he legitimately looks like a top pair shut down D, and others he looks like he shouldn't be in the NHL. Such a strange player to evaluate so that's why I can understand why Leafs fans always want him moved. But personally the upside of how he's playing, and his low cap hit, makes it a no brainer unless needed to bring in absolute correct fit at RD.

A pizza wouldn't get the deal done but if you say Poutine, then they talk!
