no, no, it wasn't Anderson for #2OA, the Devils thought that price was too high. But according to Tony Marinaro they might be interested in Josh Anderson for Simon Nemec!

you cant find 8 points in 23 games anywhere!

oh wait

yes you can

The Blues have Tyler Pitlick who I’m convinced is basically the same player as Anderson

given cap hits and all I wouldn't move Kyle Clifford for Josh Anderson one for one

Well with all this clear and obvious 1st round value for big players who don't score big points, I gladly await the day Washington gets a Hagel-like return for Aliaksei Protas!

This trade is insanely bad for Toronto and I love how there’s still a handful of Montreal ACGMs saying no.

Only thing that’s rough for Montreal is retaining $750K for that long. Everything else is a major win for Montreal.

retaining the equivalent of a league min contract is a small price to pay for dumping that contract, much less to acquire the assets in this ACGM (which Dubas would NEVER give up for this)

who needs to be able to resign Matthews and Nylander when you can have Josh Anderson? That production doesn't grow on trees.

Players with 8 or more points on the Leafs include Sandin, Jarnkrok, Kerfoot, and Kampf lmao

I’d consider it if there was like a year left and Montreal retained half. Having a bit of a different look is sorta valuable imo.

how are we even sure GMs had real interest? I know it was reported that some inquired but we have no idea what they were actually offering, could have been late round pick and Habs decided against it. No trade went down. Just because teams had interest doesn't mean he has some crazy high value. Leafs had *interest* in Mat Murray and still got paid to take him, just as an example.

It was reported by Engles and Friedman that the Habs turned down "really good offers". Seriously doubt they consider a late round pick "really good offers"

if thats true then Habs fans should want Hughes' head for not doing it, but for that contract, I would argue that is a "really good offer"

So what's in it for Montreal exactly?

Getting rid of Anderson, somehow receiving both Sandin and Minten in the process

We don't want to get rid of Anderson but we're open to discuss a trade for him

As for Sandin, LHD is not what Montreal needs at this point. We'd be open to add a RHD prospect but not a LHD. Btw this has nothing to do with Sandin's value.

Lol… you have Edmundson/Matheson/Xhekaj as your LD on the Capfriendly depth chart. Probably shouldn’t be getting picky when a team is offering a young blue chip NHL defenseman.

But sure, go off lol

We have Guhle, Harris and Xhekaj in the lineup. We also have Norlinder, Struble and especially Hutson still developing. I think we are well covered at that position.
