Why not just get a 3C and leave Mercer with Hughes where he works rather than just hoping Boeser goes back to normal?

I'd rather get Timo in the summer. Walsh is going to replace Severson IMO, Nemec is a in season call-up. BB seems a bit lost, like the player just looks like he's gotta get his head straight.

Jersey's got close to $30M in cap space next year even if they have Boeser on the roster. If anything, you bridge a couple of the younger RFA guys (McLeod/Bastian/Zetterlund) at a lower AAV for 2-3 years and give them a raise when Boeser ages off the cap. It's not a crazy idea, honestly.

Although I'd personally send Johansson instead of Blackwood - I don't think Vancouver really benefits from having Blackwood, and throwing Johansson in gives a little more cap flexibility for the Devils. If it means that Vancouver doesn't send that 4th back, I don't think that's an issue for me.
