-Devils have nowhere to fit that cap currently, so it's not even a possibility to offer that kind of overpay - VT might get this type of value double-retained, sure, but not at full freight.

-I can see the Rangers pursuing a guy like ROR, but they're not going to send back a roster player in a deadline deal. Teams that are in the playoff hunt typically don't subtract from their depth to make a move- they're only going to send futures.

-Toronto would think about this - I think it's a bit spicy for a Barbashev return unless he returns to his 60 point form. Right now he's on a 40-45ish point pace - not sure if that gets the prospect+2 picks package you have here.

-Isles don't really have a strong need to upgrade LHD - even with Pelech hurt right now they have enough depth. I think they might do a lower value/lower tier type trade for D depth if anything - thinking along the lines of Toronto giving up a 5th for Ben Hutton or LA giving up a 7th for Troy Stecher to use a few recent deadline examples.
