understand why but i mean Samsonov is ranked #1 in sv% and GAA to start this season. Can't be long before he's considered on this list. Same for Murray at 4th in sv% and 10th in GAA.

Especially when guys like Fleury (.895 sv%, 3.05 GAA) and Bobrovsky (.889 sv%, 3.35 GAA) are playing so much worse and have been declining for some time now. Even if I'm not advocating for Leafs goalies here, who frankly deserve it, there are plenty of goalies on other teams that are also better (Ullmark is the first name that comes to mind)

After the top 4 it's a crap shoot. Most of the guys you have on here aren't playing that great.

I'd ask is this for this year or the past 5 years? Bobrovsky, Fleury, and Jarry don't belong here. Also, you can't have a #1 and a #2 goalie in the top 10 like you did with the Islanders

So the guy that’s second in the league in goals against, and save percentage, and first in the league in wins isn’t on this list but fleury is? Got it

Track record plays a factor in my ranking. I dont see why them being on the same team should matter. Can't leave Varlamov off this list jus cuz he the backup to Sorokin now.

I mean I would ask what track record being Bobrovsky's track record the past few is awful. Varlamov doesn't have the same track record as the other names on this list

Both goalies are worthy of this list. Theres a lot of recency bias with goalies. Guys like Vanecek, Thompson, Skinner that are playing great but just havent proven it for nearly as long as guys on this list. I would much rather choose guys who have a proven work history rather than guys who just have a hot hand. Varlamov is very consistent and has played exceptionally well his entire career, even in front of Colorado when they went through some pretty rough seasons. Bobrovsky is a two time Vezina winner, but i agree with that argument being weak since he hasnt played very good the last few years. Hes had some down stretches through his career but overall he's still very solid. His recent bad stats are much more of an indication of the panthers defense leaving him out to dry. He's still a brick wall when hes on his game. He has kept the Panthers in a lot of games the last 2-3 years that they otherwise wouldn't have won or had a chance of winning. I can understand the argument against Bob, but I would still take him over a lot of younger goalies who have a hot hand. Its easy to forget how well guys can play or used to play when they are going through a bad stretch.

I get your viewpoint. Having people who have a track record of playing well and winning goes a long way. That's why I was asking about your timeline because like you said, people will want to see skinner on this list. He has done nothing outside of this year to get close to this list. I assume Matt Murray is off the list because of his play the past few year?

Yeah exactly. Murray has had a lot of injury trouble, and obviously struggled the last 2-3 seasons. While he has been great at the high points in his career, its consistency and stability that I look at. I mean hes pretty close to cracking this list, especially if he continues to play well this year. Gibson is a guy i would like to have put on this list, because while his numbers depict him as subpar the last 3 seasons, but if he was on a halfway decent team I believe he's a top 5 goalie in the league, but I got flamed as is with my rankings so i decided to not start any debates about him.

Poor Gibson. The guys body language is awful. He looks like he is having no fun and has given up. Oh what he could do on a good team

His career will be wasted even if the ducks get good. Hes older than the rest of that team and when the young kids finally turn them into a good playoff team, he'll be well past his prime.
