Sabres have 0 reason to do that. If theyre moving a player its to solidify the roster. It will also cost a lot more than a 1st to dump 12 million and have Olofsson coming back

You want us to eat 12 mil of cap in useless or injured players AND ask for a 25-30 goal scorer and a 3rd line center on a cheap deal? Add value to the trade by dropping Foegele and Bjork and give us Savoie

Thank you for your input.
Interesting not a single comment from the Oiler ACGM's.
Nearly every Sabre ACGM's want to to add grit, defensive forwards while moving away from Mittelstadt, and Olofsson
Foegele, would be the top hitter among all Sabre forwards with 9.6 and 9.7 hits per min respectively.
In comparison Girgensons and Okposo are Buffalos top hitters at 5.0 and 4.4 hits/min.

Puljujärvi is noted as a defensive forward along with Foegele have positive 50.4 CF%.

Mike Smith failed the Oiler physical to start the year, I think he could pass the Sabre physical and join Anderson as the oldest GK pair ever in the NHL

Klefbom is not needed other than to balance the cap and rosters.
So take him and Fitzgerald out of the trade.

Buffalo moves three players who nearly every Sabre ACGM would like to move, get two more good picks while adding toughness and a possible GK.

Nice thought out response. Mitts and Olofsson are being moved to open spots for are younger players Rousek Kulich Savoie Rosen. I would think we would use those assets on D help instead of more forwards. Picks would be nice but late in the round, which could be intriguing to the Sabres cause of where the D fall in the draft next year, a weak spot in are Organization atleast RD. Understand what you are saying, but IMO not what Buffalo would be looking at.

Yes of course the Sabres will have Kulich, Savoie, and more next year in the line up.
The trade was changed as you can see now.
I was thinking this trade would be made soon to try to salvage this season.
Smith contract expires at the end of the season, while Foegele, could take Girgensons spot in the line up next year and Puljujärvi could replace Hinostroza.

Gonna be interesting next year. Some of the youngins are developing quicker than expected I think. The Sabres could really come out next year and roll 4 lines of speed and forecheck. Guess it depends on which way they want to go.

To be honest Kulich is doing really well.
18 yo are supposed to be over powered by 26 yo players yet he is doing very well in Rochester.
If Rosen can bulk up a bit more and Savoie jump from Juniors to the NHL it is obvious that Casey and Victor are not needed at all.
They tie up Cozens and Dahlin for the next 8 years, sign an couple of UFA RHD it could be interesting.
BTW, I am posting the above trade from the the Sabres POV, let's see what the Oiler fans think of it.

EDIT:
The Penguins certainly showed the Sabres how to play hockey.
Let's hope Buffalo does well on this road trip.

Hey, I will give credit to you. Glad they finally tried him with Krebs. Unfortunately it looks like Yost was C Asplund and Olofsson yesterday. Hopefully they put them together again.

No interest for me to move Olofsson this season, maybe next year. Mitts I'd love to deal away for a RHD or just sit him in the press box. No interest in acquiring bottom 6 wingers, which is what Pul and Foegele are. Yes I'd like us to be more physical, but I'd want players that contribute on both ends of the ice (guys like Marcus Foligno, Miles Wood, Will Carrier etc.). I'd just wait until the offseason and try to sign or trade for a winger or two like that.

Well here are the life time stats of Foligno, Carrier and Foegele, prorated over 82 games, not necessarily in that order:
14 goals, 13 assists, 27 pts
11 goals, 10 assists, 21 pts
13 goals, 17 assists, 30 pts
Can you guess the order?
Who is Foligno, Carrier or Foegele?
Well Foligno has most assists, Foegele has most goals, Carrier last in both.
Foligno, Carrier and Foegele hits are 13.5, 12.2, 9.6 hits/60 this year respectively.
So please tell me again why you do not want Foegele?
TBH, you just talked yourself into liking this trade, as Foegele does exactly what you want score goals and hits.
EDIT
Maybe it it better to trade Olofsson now to get a first round in a strong draft, but I get your point.
With 6 picks in the first two rounds, Karmanos should be able to do some magical deals and Jeramiah Crowe draft deftly.

Foligno just had a 42 point season, he drops the gloves and is a very good defensive forward with outstanding leadership. That's no comparison with Foegele. Bottom line is I don't want Foegele and certainly not in the above trade. He's Edmonton's
