Check the standings again, Florida is 11th overall, that is literally a lottery pick since it is in the top 16. Also IF that pick wins the first lottery it would be 1st OVA (moved up 10 spots) which means you are trading Bedard +++ for Horvat, would you do that even one for one?!

Correct me if I'm wrong but, wasn't there a new rule put into play where a team can only move up so many spots in the lottery?

I believe the max you can move up is 10 spots now (I might be wrong though)

You started with making sense amd ended with nonsense, sending a bad contract dosent mean an expiring contract it means armia AND hoffman

If you want the Canucks to take two multi year cap dumps in a deal for the best rental on the market both your 2023 1st round picks better be included to dump them

Yes the rule states that any team in the bottom 16 can move up a maximum of 10 spots, since Florida is currently 11th in the standings 10 spots would put them at 1st OVA.

Here is a website that shows each positions odds of winning 1st overall, if a team can not get to 1st then the column will be blank.

I've said it before but many hockey writers have the most delusional hockey trade suggestions, these are just wacky!

Detroit passes, Cossa isn't on the block. And besides Horvat grew up a Red Wings fan. So there's a great chance we can just sign him in free agency.

Well Bukala’s take isn't very accurate even blind Equatorial Pygmies can see Yzerman has no interest in speeding things up. He used only 1 3rd round pick to fill holes in the roster this summer when there were plenty of good players available for trade, Just because a Sportsnet reporter quotes him in an article it doesn't mean his view is correct. Maybe Dixon should go back to covering soccer in Northern Uganda.
