Why would you trade away Samsonov?

Horvat isn't a bad add but the rest of this is horrible

Two of the worse trades possible by the Leafs. Makes the team worse this season and in the future .

Comedically bad for the leafs.
Nothing in the chicago trade is worth samsonov alone
And all the futures in the Vancouver trade need to be going to Toronto to take myers brutal contract

First trade is awful for the Leafs

Second trade is terrible for the Canucks

Personally I think Kalgren can be either the backup on the main squad or should go in a trade to play on a NHL roster, I think Samsonov is showing he can be a number 1 on a rebuilding team but he's an RFA and maybe get something for him when you can.

I think it's a rare time in Leafs recent history whether the days of berezin, antropov and or Lupul where they actually have good young players and prospects to pull in valuable players, kalgren, sandin, Samsonov, Hollowell, Dahlstrom, Kral can all play on a NHL dcore but the Leafs need guys that will get them to a cup final I think they should use quality youngsters to grab decent vets.

Entwistle cheap 23 year old showing lots of upside, domi great role playing young scorer that can play every single position besides goalie and a pain to play against that would ask for something in return.

Vancouver dumps 2 vets they don't see in their future, one getting older in Myers and some money, getting back two vets maybe a more defensive player in Holland cheap for term and role playing energy centre in kerfoot for cheap and great prospects and draft picks.
