Personally, instead of Gus, I think the Canes should go all in Konecny. Gus would be a good alternative, but TK at the same money would be a massive pickup. TK brings grit, can play both special teams, and has a great work ethic, so he would fit in great in Carolina. Plus you get cost certainty for 3 years instead of just getting a rental, and if the Canes so chose, they could resign him since the only other core piece needed to be resigned would be Slavin. The price for TK would be quite high, but more than likely worth it in the end.

Tbh i didn't think about Konecny, he would be a good fit here. Idk if he would be available though.

And also, if the Canes were to acquire him, he wouldn’t be able to do what he did to the Canes last night

You'll have to be willing to give up Morrow + or Jarvis +

Based on media reports, the Canucks turned down a 2nd round pick for Schenn last year. I think there will be better offers than this.

What do you expect to give up for konceny. Suzuki and a 1st? Nobody wants your B tier prospects for A tier NHLers

Um. Yeah. Good luck with that. Torts loves guys like Konecny; I suspect the price to get him would be unreasonably high.

Oh I know it would be quite high. It’s makes sense to make a move for Konecny.

Let me put it this way - the guy you wrote off as a troll talking about Morrow+ or Jarvis+ might not be too far off base with those quotes. At least, not with Morrow+; Jarvis has been good enough already at the NHL level that that's probably an overreach. But still. Really unreasonably high.

Don’t you know that Morrow is going to be better than Makar?

Jarvis 1for1 would probably be fair but I think Philly would want a "more than fair" deal to move Konecny. Like you said he's the type of player torts loves and he's quite young and under team control for a few years still. There's no incentive to move him unless it's a very strong offer.

I always forget that Makar is really just a Morrow-lite.

Morrow isn’t getting my moved and I don’t see the Flyers having much interest in an another offensive RHD. And Jarvis has the potential to be better than TK aim the long run, so moving him would be a mistake. Philly lacks quality Center prospects, Goalie prospects, and could maybe also use an extra Wing prospect. 23 first, 24 first, Philly’s choice between Drury/Rees/Ponomarev, and Gunler for TK half retained would be the close to the base offer I could see the Canes giving.

Could be; I'm not fully informed on Philly's needs and priorities, so as far as I know it might be possible to do a TK deal without one of those two guys. Just saying that he's disproportionately valued to the point that aiming super-high for top prospects is probable.

You're not getting 2.75mil retention for 3 seasons on a 25yr old first line player for 2 late 1sts and a bottom6/middle6 prospect.

You say you think it would be worth it for canes to trade for Konecny but again you're unwilling to give up the pieces it would take. All those prospects you mentioned are fine prospects but none of them really pop right now. You don't get young first liners with term + salary retention without including something of more certainty.

Yea, i think value wise thats a bit in the flyers favor. But, it would have to be. No reason for Philly to trade a very good, young player with term when they're looking to rebuild around a young core. Konecny is a big part of that. No point in trading him unless a team offers something like Jarvis/Morrow.
