23' first rounder is the starting point no matter how few teams he's willing to go to.

That could be true or the Hawks could just lose him for no picks next season when he becomes a UFA. Just like the Islanders with Tavares. Claude Giroux handcuffed Philly by only wanting to go to Florida. The same is going to happen with Kane.

We'll see. I still think he's more likely to resign then ask for a trade.

This entire thing is awful and makes the Rangers worse. Definitely not a Rangers fan, this is just sad and disgraceful.

Nothing wrong with trading for Mcilrath to provide toughness and leadership for the youngsters. Not trading him to replace anyone on the shows roster.

It’s not an over pay when you’re expecting and requiring salary retention. Chytil (Fragile) and Kravtsov are the only roster players being moved. How is this an over pay? Moving Kravtsov opens a spot next year for Othmann regardless if either Kane or Domi resign. Jones just can’t break that 6th D spot. So what are we really giving up?

It’s tough to see Kane in anything other than a Hawks jersey. But at this point in his career does he want to be part of a rebuild ? Trading Debrincat and giving up on Dach so early. Hawks should have done everything they could to keep Panarin with Kane.

Intellect? From someone trading for Dylan McIlrath, a guy that couldn't make the team years ago and who has played a whole 66 NHL games over 7 seasons and hasn't played an NHL game since 2019-2020, and you want to give up 3 prospects. LOL. I'm shocked you can spell intellect.

Who is he leading he was a bust and worthless. There’s no value to be added there. Better off bringing back Staal or Smith if you want veteran leadership . At least they played pivotal roles in their primes.

The delusion behind adding Kane makes this team a cup contender is ridiculous. Chytil is performing and only getting better. Kane is on the decline and you’re paying for what he’s done not what he can do. I stand by my original comment this trade is just bad for the Rangers. Try exercising some patience, it might actually get us somewhere. Halfbaked knee jerk trades have been the death of this team for the past decade. Teams typically don’t win without they’re own homegrown talent playing pivotal roles. Just adding rentals does nothing. I think you are the Islander fan if you rationally made the trade above.

I agree with you 100% but this is the Rangers. We have an issue outside of goaltending, developing “homegrown” talent. It’s only a matter of time before Lafreniere asks for a trade just like Lias Andersson, Lundkvist, and Kravtsov. We have a #1 and #2 overall playing zero PP time and getting 3rd line minutes. JT Miller wasn’t JT Miller as we know until we traded him for Hajek. Ryan Graves, Duclair, Jonathan Marchassault, all solid players the Rangers could not develop. So yes I’d rather move a couple young pieces who don’t stand a chance of making the lineup anyway and who probably won’t develop under this system to reunite Kane and Panarin. Chytil gets hurt every other game he won’t last a round in the playoffs playing a team like Boston or the Capitals.

Are you ok? Smith is playing in the NHL with the NJ Devils Staal is playing in the NHL with the Fla. Panthers. I am talking about some veteran lead ship for the AHL farm team. The Hershey Bears gave him the C so obviously they feel he has some experience and leadership skills. I really don’t mind helping new hockey fans, especially you young kids who are trying to grasp the basic common sense of hockey.

If that’s what you call 3 prospects a guy who’s got 1 goal, an ECHL goalie, and a guy who can’t make either the AHL or ECHL. In the future before you write something and sound stupid there’s a great website to reference from called Hockeydb.com check it out. Cheers mate your welcome !

ANY young players are better than McIlrath, including junior high kids playing street hockey, so if you want to see stupid, look in a mirror mate. 100% you're not a Ranger fan.

People like you are the exact reason why this team will never win. Teams do not wins cups through trades alone. It takes homegrown talent or it doesn’t happen. Given your ability to insult others for political beliefs that were never even brought up, I have no interest continuing this conversation. Sounds like you are the kid insulting people on here. Have a nice day.

Before you were born back in 1994 the Rangers won the Stanley Cup. They did so by making a ton of trades, basically mortgaging the future. One of the first trades they made was trading away David Shaw for Beaukeboom. Then they traded Turcotte and James Patrick for Steve Larmer. Then they signed Adam Graves losing Troy Mallette as compensation, then traded away Bernie Nichols, Prospect Steven Rice, and Louie Debrusk for a guy named Mark Messier. Then they traded Tony Amonte for Matteau and Noonan, Doug Weight for Tikkanen, and Marchant for Craig MacTavish. Then Domi and King for Eddie O. So what were you saying about teams not winning cups based off trades???

The homegrown talent you were referring too was Brian Leetch, Alex Kovalev who by the way didn’t hit his potential with the Rangers, Zubov who by the way didn’t hit his potential with the Rangers, and Mike Richter. As I mentioned before Goalies withstanding the rangers struggle developing prospects. The one player they “Homegrown” to his maximum potential was Brian Leetch. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Listen I am not looking to argue or fight as I hope you take this as a learning moment. This site is a fantasy site for me in which fans give their opinions of how to better their team. I don’t call people anything negative until they first call me something negative. Otherwise I am very polite and hopefully this information helps you.
