No. A first is adequate for Kuzmenko, however the Canucks need compensation for taking on Bailey has he is 2 mil more expensive than Pearson.

I think Kuzmenko will get a first on his own.

I think Isles would need to add a 2nd or so to get rid of Bailey. Maybe a 3rd since they are also taking on Pearson.

I definitely see Vancouver and Isles as good trading partners though.

Going to agree.

Pearson and Bailey are similar players, with Bailey's contract being more in the short term. For me, Isles would have to retain 50% for this to remotely male sense for the Canucks.

At that point, they save some $$, and get out of the Pearson deal a year sooner, which maybe enough for this deal to make sense.

It isn’t the worst trade, not a fan of taking back Pearson. Would rather just trade for kuzmenko and buyout Bailey after the season.

What has palmieri done to deserve 1st line rw spot?

What do you think is fair value for Kuzmenko?

Woah we are way off value wise. Kuzmenko is scoring near point per game pace as a winger making 900k. First and foremost Kuzmenko loves Vancouver and despite the money bags from his agent, I see him staying in Vancouver long term with Petey. IF we were to trade him he gets back at least a first round pick and a prospect. People argue he may be unpolished defensively yet he leads in +/- or that his sample size is too small and yet Kaprizov was raved about. Trading Kuzmenko would be a huge mistake. You are not going to get a better player between the 20-30 draft range than Kuzmenko for the next five years.

I like this trade. Kuzmenko obviously an amazing piece at his cap hit - but on an expiring deal and I imagine he will want to hit FA this year. Assume a cap team like Colorado, Tampa, TML would give up a straight first for him, but I'd rather have the Isles pick.

Canucks won’t part with Kuzmenko for two 2nds. If you don’t want to do the posted trade, which value-wise favours NYI, you’re not gunna get Kuzy for even less

He was 2nd on the team in 5v5 scoring before getting injured. He retrieves pucks. Played well with Barzal before. Why not? Kuzmenko is the scorer on the line

As for buying out Bailey. Taking Pearson back and burying him next year basically the same thing except you don't have dead cap beyond next year

He was not 2nd, he’s at 1.34 points per 60 which is a 4th line rate. He has 9 points in 21 games and sucks defensively. He also isn’t a puck retriever, you must be thinking of Parise. The guy is arguably worse than Andrew Ladd when he played for the isles.

He played well with barzal for a few shifts in the 2020 playoffs, over 2 years ago. Palmieri is cooked.

5v5 scoring rates and he’s also terrible on the powerplay.

Then that Pearson for Bailey flip makes no sense at all
