Wish we could grab gavrikov, but I think Columbus is eyeing a 1st round pick for him.

Columbus might do something like this. They need to complete at some point . Grzelcyks advanced stats make him look like a better player than he is.

That's market value for a bottom6 UFA forward being dealt at the deadline.

What do you think Acciari is going to fetch?

jackets have enough 2way defensive prospects and small defensemen. grze has no future in columbus, they need to find someone like Carlo

idk about worse defenseman, I think they're both pretty similar. Except one is 6'3 210 and one is 5'9 170. Grav throws way more hits and is harder to play against.

I also think Gryz will be a cap casualty in the summer.

Do I think Sweeney will add a dman at the deadline? Most likely not, he's probably content with the current dcore. But in my mind this move would further increase the size/grit of the dcore that's so important for the playoffs.

Gavrikov has struggled since 2020. Sure they have a different style of play but part of why Gavrikov throws more hits is because he doesn't have possession of the puck (which is the the goal of the game) as much as Grzelcyk. Hitting/blocking shot does not automatically equal to being hard to play against. Being effective is the most important thing. Trading Grzelcyk to replace him by a defenseman that is much weaker offensively and in transition would make the team worse. Bruins already have Carlo and Forbort who offers almost no offense and that would be a 3rd one when this team is already one of the best teams defensively.

They will likely target a depth D although with the limited cap space and assets, maybe nothing happens on defense.

For starters, I see no mention of the deadline above. Secondly, folks need to stop assuming the Blues are going to trade everybody. For the time being at least, everyone is needed in STL.

If STL is out of the playoff picture come deadline, I would definitely expect Acciari to be among one of their skaters dealt. But you are correct, they are not at that point yet.
