Detroit declines that, we have no use for either player offered.

No thanks on either Allen or Anderson, You can have Nedeljkovic and we will keep Veleno.

Don't really think DAL needs Drouin, but the value ain't terrible.

Detroit doesn’t need a trade like that but tbh, that value is hard to pass up on.

Is this sarcasm? Allen is 32, 2 more years after this year, cap hit near 3.8 million, and a save percentage sub .910 the last 3 years...and injury history iirc.
Anderson is 28, 4 more years after this, cap hit 5.5 million. He would probably have a few extra 20 goal campaigns if he could stay in the lineup, but reality has him as about a 15 to 20 goal scorer around .5ppg.

I think I missed the part in this trade where Detroit gets 2023 first, or Slavkovsky (or whoever the next top prospect in their system is). Two cap dumps for a UFA goalie and a player who is showing better promise of late? That pot needs to get sweeter for Detroit to accept.

Are you sure you're not a Montreal fan?

Now Allen is better than Ned but Allen is 32 and just signed a 2yr extension and Detroit can just walk away from Ned if they want to. I wouldn't trade a 22yr old center for a 28yr old winger. Veleno has 1 point less than Anderson but Veleno also plays about 4min less a game than Anderson. You also have to consider Veleno has played in Detroit's bottom 6 all season while Anderson has spent most of his time in the top 6. From what I've seen from Kent Hughes seems to know what he is doing. With Anderson is having a bad season and 4yrs left on his contract and both of those things bring down his trade value quite a bit. With the amount of really good forwards that will be available at the TDL and in the off season the smart play is to hold onto Anderson for another season and hope he plays better next season. You also have to consider the cap we won't know if the cap goes up more than $1M until June 30th but if it doesn't go up this off-season it will go up the following off-season. With more cap space it makes the term left Anderson's contract a lot easier to deal with. Besides Detroit isn't going to be buying at the TDL and realistically you might be able to sign Ned in the off-season without giving any thing up.

Red Wings say no. The way he's going, I don't think Anderson could crack Detroit's Top 6 with a healthy roster. So it's quite a contract to take on to play a guy bottom 6 minutes...and that's even if we lose Bertuzzi. The Wings might as well just keep Joey. Cheaper cap hit and he's a Center.

Montreal is ass. Anderson is having a down year but I think throwing him on a line with Larkin & Vrana or Fabbri & Copp would be good for him.

I personally don’t seek out this trade and I’m not sure I would certainly do it but, I do believe we get the better end of the deal for sure.

I guess I’m just higher on Anderson than most. I think he’s on a bad team with a poor culture and with trade rumors swirling on him and nearly every player on that roster, it’s a less than ideal situation to say the least.

Again, I’m not saying I do the trade but, the value is there in my opinion. It deserves consideration.

I wasn't being serious O know you are a Wing's Fan. I was just giving you a hard time. Detroit winger situation we have what about 6 wingers that could be in our top 6 and trading picks, centers and RHDs for more doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Right, I’m with you. My opinion of the trade was from a value standpoint which, I felt/feel we make out ahead on it, regardless of fit/need.

Habs arent trading Farrell and a likely top 10 pick (and another shot at Bedard) in the 2023 draft for Laffy. The title says tank for connor but you’re litteraly throwing away a 5% chance at him. Easy no

Do you think it's fair value for Lafreniere? Would Rangers consider it?

Allen is a fine compliment to Husso for the next few years. It's not the worse trade idk

I think the Rangers would consider it yeah but Habs wouldn’t unless its post lottery and the pick is between 11-15
