Even with the injury, I don’t see how he won’t get the Giroux return or better

Well Giroux was far more productive, 18g 42pts in 57 games at the time of his trade. ROR on his current pace to compare would put up in the same 57 games only 15g 24pts. (35 pt pace 82 games)
He really is having a lack lustre offensive season.

I don't think ROR is on the same level as giroux but the avs should atleast up that pick to a 23' 1st.

Well Giroux had a full NTC and forced his way to Florida, O’Reilly has no protection. Also O’Reilly’s been fineish. I wouldn’t say it’s his fault he only has 7 assists and he’s really only been a black hole on the powerplay (for the very first time in his career)

im just saying he hasn't been up to his normal standards, and in a TDL that could see Horvat Toews, Kane, and Tarasneko, go as well. He might not be the focus on teams going into the TDL.
He will get a good return but you cant compare trade values from TDL to TDL, its different everytime

Definitely, but he’s more valuable than all those guys except Horvat. At least he should be.

Come the tdl out of the semi available ufa's if he is healthy I put him around 5th best. With his injury he could be one of the last guys picked when the teams are being formed.

Is he someone J.R will hold onto rather than get less than great return? Not sure there is space for him next year in STL.

I'm a Canucks fan and admittedly I haven't watched O'Reilly at all this year, but the guy is one of the few that can completely take over a game in years past. If I was a contending team looking to add I might have him top of my list depending on needs. Can singlehandedly shut down the opposing top line when he is going.

As much as I loathe a plus/minus stat, a -28 is telling on a team who pride themselves on being defensively responsible. I only use it if it's a crazy number one way or another. He would help on faceoffs for sure but at what cost. He plays a completely different game than the Avs run and gun style, I'm not sure he could skate on anything more than a 3C role for us. I could be completely wrong though lol

I would be fine with RoR as 3c. Put ERod or Newhook with Landy/Lehk and Rants, or run a slower version of the Landy Kadri(RoR) Nuch smother line. I don't see Toews as a 2c, just Rico and Horvat(fuhget about it). I think if healthy, the avs just need someone who is a 3c on a bad day, rather than high end talent.
