Throw in Hutson and Caufield, and the Devils accept. Anderson is a huge negative asset that the Devils shouldn't take for free.

I don't think NJ accept, Love the Boston and Edmonton trade for both teams. MTL shouldn't give anything for Boeser.

The Devils wouldn't do Johnsson for Anderson let alone adding Holtz

I don’t think any team other than Montreal pulls these triggers

I wouldn't say "love" but perhaps in the realm of reason.

Boston one may be the most mutually beneficial, but odds are against them being trading partners.

Edmundson for Foegele and a 1st is a maybe, depends what we can do without taking a Foegele back. Might be better off retaining and maximizing value while also targeting a prospect.

Don't see NJ as a fit for Anderson and definitely not interested if the end result is replacing him with Boeser.
If we aren't keeping Anderson there are much better uses for that cap space.

Boston would be getting Monahan basically for free as they don't really add cap space. And even if that's Boston, MTL would consider that trade for a 2023 1st.

Foegele 2.7M could easily be carried next year by MTL. And if they need cap space next summer, buying out Armia or Foegele is interesting.

I agree about Anderson and Boeser.

Can definitely say Boston won’t be paying a 23 1st for Monahan, maybe a 24 1st.

Also why has Monahan missed so many games already if he’s already showing signs of becoming injury prone again bruins will pass on that too.

I think they are starting to realize moving 1st for injury prone guys like kase and nash isn’t a good idea

Josh Anderson is still not worth that package. Replace Holtz with a 3rd and retain half on JA, then maybe

Will never understand why people think Anderson is so valuable. He’s an overpaid inconsistent middle 6 winger. People say you need him for the playoffs but to be completely honest he was pretty ineffective during the 2021 playoff run. Coming from a Habs fan, I don’t see his value much higher then maybe a second or a former high draft pick that could use a change of scenery. If he wasn’t making what he was then he’d have some good value.

Devils do not take cap dumps (even when we were at our worst with tons of cap space, we didn’t touch them).

Any realistic Anderson move should include one of three things:

1. A major incentive in picks and prospects to take full salary
2. A large chunk of salary retained
3. Both

Monahan missed 10 games over a foot injury, nothing related to his old injuries. He chose to play through pain and made it worse.

BOS 2023 1st will be between 24 and 32 this year. If they rather give 2024, can't protect it as MTL won't wait for 2025 to draft.

I'm sure Monahan could extend for cheap if traded to a contender like Boston, he wants to win.
