I don’t think Detroit would do this unless they know they won’t sign Larkin. Even then not sure if the Bruins would do it if they’re only gonna have Larkin and Bertuzzi as rentals.

You have an error message- "This trade has been rejected because the upper limit has been exceeded by one of the trade parties" you have to fix that.
Not a bad idea but I don't see an in-division trade happening and Centers typically have more value then Wingers so I don't think Detroit would do it.
P.S., I'd love to see Larkin in a Bruins uniform but he won't be until he becomes a UFA in my opinion.

Let's say the Wings get a shot at Bedard (really not likely), then Larkin for Pasta would be amazing. Despite being a winger, Pastrnak can have a Kucherov level impact on the game, and that can't be discounted from his value. If neither player wants to re-sign with their current team, but would with the new one, then Larkin plus for Pastrnak could make good sense, if the Red Wings can suss out a replacement for Larkin. The Bruins would get a great replacement for a retiring Bergeron and Krejci, and would have to hope Lysell can make the NHL quickly enough to ensure a smooth re-tool. There's still the issue, though, of the Bruins' weak prospect pool.. can they replace enough guys and remain competitive enough to make an expensive Larkin signing worth it in the long run?

The issue for Detroit is they probably can't replace Larkin at center. Chances are the Red Wings and Larkin will come to an understanding and get their deal done.

Bruins keep Pasta for the Playoffs. They sign Larkin next summer after Bergeron and Krejci retire…
Pasta is going to make bank this summer as a UFA

What makes you think he does not resign in Detroit? I have said it several times. Yzerman is very slow and methodical in his signings. He waits to the last possible moment and is not rushed to signings that he believes he does not want. Larkin is playing for his hometown team and Wings can offer more and term than Boston.

Lastly Boston turnover a decade have be a very good team, but that run will come to an end. Without MB and DK this team will falter as they are getting older. Not a knock just history. Chicago was good for a good about t of time but age and time catches up with any team and it will happen to Boston also. Now they may not falter as bad as other teams, but it will happen.

My guess is $12M x 5/6 to the highest bidder. might be 7, but I think he's gonna want a little shorter

I hope you are wrong - the last report was the Bruins offered him 8 years 9.5, but he wanted 11.5. Who knows, at least the GM and the agent are still talking, so there is hope it could get done. For all we know there could be something done in principle but the Bruins may need to shuffle money around.
