I'm in the Alex Newhook is overrated camp, but seem to be in the minority so value probably fine here.

It's looking like Newhook might not be THAT good, either that, or he needs a change in scenery. I think this trade works.

COL isn’t trading their only pick in the first 5 rounds, or a 21yr old cost controlled top 6 forward for a guy they can’t re-sign. Thrown in trading both of those it’s expected COL kick in a top pker and creating another hole in their line up. It makes literally no sense and needless to say COL isn’t doing this on any day.

The crazy thing about Newhook through 37 games is his most common linemates are Nichushkin and ERod who he has played a grand total of 83 minutes with and played on 13 different line combinations for more than 10 minutes. In other words he hasn’t consistently played with any linemates.

At least he isn't like Bo Horvat. He spent most of his years consistently playing with the likes of Loui Eriksson, Jake Virtanen, and Tanner Pearson
