Very unlikely Klingberg waives for Winnipeg.

There's a lot wrong here, but for starters, you can only retain 3 salaries at a time.

While Gibson is still a great goalie, no one's giving us that package due to his stats.

Provorovs going to cost more than a 1st and two NCAA guys.

Silf and Lundestrom need to not be on the same line. Lund should be with Vatrano and Comtois

Calgary is in go for it, they're not going to trade Mangipane, and definitely not for that.

Ottowa' not in a position to trade their first, and that's frankly wasting Henrique as well, as he's worth a 1st this year with significant retention due to the extra year, no need to take zaitsev back in that.

You guys are first in the central, why do you think you WOULD be on his 10 team list? I know the list typically means CA and CA teams, but it's more than likely that he is locking out other bottom feeders like Chicago, Montreal, Arizona, Phillidelphia, Columbus, etc.

Well, almost everyone who is anyone has Winnipeg on their list. Plus he requested a trade when he was on Dallas last year with Bowness as the coach, so there may be hard feelings.

The trade request was due to contract negotiations with the front office going cold, Kling was looking for a long term security with his new contract and Dallas wasn't hitting the numbers he expected. Klingberg would likely relish the chance to be on a team that knocks Dallas off in the post season.

It may work then. I'm not a fan of moving the Jets 1st for a rental, but if Chevy thinks Klingberg would help and he's willing to come to Winnipeg, then...

Yes, I'd much rather prefer the Jets use a prospect for a rental than the 1st.

First should only go if it's a sure thing or a deep playoff co condition (would love a toews and kane reunion in peg) and in that scenario it makes sense

The package from an outside perspective seems reasonable, IF the acquiring team believes Gibson's poor play is a result of the team around him. With how badly he's been getting shelled every night it wouldn't surprise me. Bjork is worthless, so it's really just what should be a 2nd in the late 30's/early 40's and a 2nd probably in the 60's.

UPL has looked good this season, and with Levi coming in next season I dont think the Sabres would have interest in Gibson. I do think the price is fair though.

Our biggest problem with moving Gibson (outside of the fact that he is one of the most loved guys by our fans) is timing. Even knowing Dostal is the future and is basically NHL ready, if we move Gibson, we need to go find a seasoned 1B veteran to pair him with. Stolarz has been great for us, but we question his ability to handle a 40 game work load in a season and his play agianst steeper competition (he pulls all the easy assignments). The bigger problem is there is a huge question mark behind Dostal, we have no AHL goalie. Erikson Ek is not going to be resigned, Clang took a bit of a step back this year, and we signed Alexander to be an AHL backup, but he is a BIG question mark if he ever elevates past 4th on the depth chart.

Now the question becomes, who can Verbeek convince to come play here as a FA knowing they will be second chair to Dostal and play behind a brutal defense? Whoever we find probably won't be half the goalie that Gibson is, and we are going to need a workhorse for a couple more seasons.

It is rough watching him get shelled night in and night out, but I can't see a scenario where the team gets better for moving him, as we wont get the draft capital we want for him, and we will get even worse in the mean time. Bedard watch is all well and fun, but we have other, highly talented players that we need to develop that are already on the team, and building a loosing culture will basically reset our rebuild to zero. It just doesn't work for us.

no chance OTT trade a top 10 pick for a 32 YO player that is not worth a top 20 pick yet alone a top 10

Klingberg did a postgame interview last year where he mentioned that he wished that Bowness' system allowed him to play with more pace. For a guy with those kind of aspirations, I don't see him waiving to go back to the system that restricted his play-style back in Dallas.

Unironically, the place that could arguably use him the most IS Dallas. Lundkvist (despite the fact that he's been decent this year) seems to have caught the ire of DeBoer & has spent the better part of the last 2 weeks in the press box as a healthy scratch, while neither Miller nor Hakanpaa are viable top-4 RD. Klingberg may have his defensive deficiencies, but he's still a significant upgrade on the crop of RD Dallas currently has at their disposal.
