I’d rather keep Brodie fs. ~2 mil in cap savings is cool and all but with this mock roster you’re not even using any of the cap savings, while downgrading to a worse defenceman who also isn’t familiar with the team

That's what I thought as well, but I heard, on I believe it was the latest 32 thoughts (?) that they'd be open to moving him.

Roy is the only defensive RHD the Kings have in the system. Since they traded Faber, every single one of their RHD prospects is an offense-first guy. They can't afford to move him.

I prefer the little leeway of 1.9 mil (to
fill with replacements) instead of being hard
    pressed against the cap

Then why wouldn't Toronto just keep him?

Well a 20 man roster isn't good and no way Bunting accepts that contract.
And the next season. Murray's buyout goes 2.6m.....Liljegren/Sandin and other to sign maybe even Matthews and Nylander. The math just doesn't work for Meier if the Leafs are to retain their good player for next year and the year after.
    Brodie waive to LA?

You're being disingenuous. Roy brings a different game than Brodie does, and it's the reason you want him for the Leafs. The Kings want to keep him for the same reasons.
