Imagine, thinking the Sabres would even entertain paying such a Crazy price for your goaltender. The Sabres say no for the same reason you would try to make the deal.

Problem is protecting the star players usually requires you to be on the ice with the star players, otherwise you are just throwing revenge hits 5-10 minutes later.

If we're picking someone like that up, they need to be a defenseman. We need Dustin Byfuglien.

whether the isles admit it or not, they are in a rebuild. They can add timo Meier and they'd still finish bottom 5-8 in the league

In what world do you even believe Minnesota does this? They aren't trading 1st round pick or especially danila yurov for brock Nelson and his contract. No appreciation of Minnesota cap either. Thet aren't trading yurov or 1st round pick for long term contracts

Not to mention the entire reason that Greenway is on the market is because Minnesota will be cap strapped this offseason so they need to shed his salary. This move costs them an extra $1mil

He’s having one of the best seasons ever by a goalie, of course he would come extended to the Sabres in this scenario…

I agree with you but the majority of front office in the NHL are still old school..

Best case scenario is that Isles can get one of Bedard, Fantili, Carlsson (unrealistic and involves crazy amount of luck), so Michkov is essentially my dream scenario due to him possibly dropping.. it wouldn’t be crazy if Bedard, Fantili, Carlsson, Benson, Yager, Smith and maybe even Dvorský or Šalé goes before him even if that would be criminal lol… I would gladly wait until 2026 for him, he would have an Kaprizov impact immediately by then..

My dream scenario is we sell mayfield and Nelson for two 1st rd picks, fall to 7th in the standings , draft Mitchkov and then trade up for Zach benson at 9 or 10.

There’s no way Benson falls to 9-10th imo.. but I would absolutely love him, reminds me of Mitch Marner..

I’m still pissed about Isles not trading up to select Brad Lambert at 30…
