This is what WPG hope they get for Dubois if he said he would play for any teams. But since he said MTL only, like Trouba did with NY a few years ago, cant see MTL pay more than FLA 2023 1st and one of Barron or Beck.

the difference is waiting and trying to sign him costs the habs nothing, putting together a package that pays jets top value for him would be ludicras. I dont trust rumours that he's 100% coming to MTL as that is never the case, but also haven't seen nothing to suggest hughes is looking to sell off a bunch of futures for him either, if anything like that trade was on the table i think it wouldve already.

Well, there is the situation if you wait & snooze , you may loose out on having a Beliveau type player in PLD. You guys are of to a good start with a Pocket Rocket type in Suzuki, but hoping (Dach develops into PLD) is risky. If you move at draft night and get PLD, you know exactly what you are getting at a very young age and fast advancing your future goal of a Cup showdown. Sorry, Dach is no where near PLD, however you want to slice it. The Jets don't want to loose PLD, but if it becomes out of control and he wants to leave, so be it.

So, a trade involving Dach, Barron, Kidney or Beck and Florida's 1st round pick for PLD is a reasonable ask/request. Wpg is dealing with lots of future unknowns with this type of transaction. Yes, Wpg potential is upside, but a very excellent player is going to the Habs.
