Detroit declines. A top 4 (this year top pair) defenseman with cost control for 1 more year and RFA after, a middle 6 defensive forward, and the presumably high first for Horvat? Wait till Horvat is UFA.

Zaitsev is owed $4.5 million next year and Myers is owed $6 million, so the Senators wouldn't make this deal even if the cap considerations didn't rule it out to begin with.

Detroit 100% passes, We're in no position to trade Hronek for a rental. We've no RD replacements for Hronek in our pipeline for the foreseeable future.

I wouldn't do that either, it's going to be hard finding an RHD to replace Hronek. This time last season I probably would've been ok moving him for Horvat but his defensive play has improved bu leaps and bounds.
