Winnipeg would have no interest in getting stuck with Lebanc's contract next great. San Jose will need to pay to make that one go away.

He's a good depth guy, but that extra year is too much for a bottom 6 guy. WPG will look for expiring contracts unless it's a value fit

Maybe, but adding bad salary doesn't help find a replacement for him.

On pace for 45 points…he isn’t that bad. Overpaid yes but not a bad player

Consistency is a major issue with him.

Likely Dubois is gone and Perfetti will replace him as the 2nd line center. Connor - Scheifele - Wheeler, Ehlers - Perfetti - Labanc, Barron - Lowry - Appleton. Regardless of what Winnipeg does, they won't be as good without Dubois next year.

Yup, but as I said adding a bad, overpaid winger that isn't an improvement on anything Winnipeg already has, doesn't help. He just takes up cap space that could be used on better players.

It's a risk worth taking in my opinion. He has shown flashes of potential so perhaps he can figure it out in Winnipeg but if not they can let him walk the year after.
