The best prospect/young player They'll get is Holtz. The deal is practically made. NJD, a 23 1st and Holtz. maybe another pick or prospect. Nobody is going to offer them more.

So either 1st and:

Holtz

Casey and Gritsyuk

Sharangovich and Casey

I would imagine the devils do any of these

Mukhamadullin and our 23 1st, with a smal pick prospect is plenty.

Finally a decently fair offer.

I want to know a list of players that got more than 2 1sts that is around Meier's value. A 1st + Kulich is way more than fair.

I think I agree with @saysthemachine about Holtz+a 1st being a made deal. I would imagine that they do want Holtz specifically if they trade him to NJ since his scoring potential should replace Meier's. The other options is likely to increase the offers they get from other teams to ensure that they get Holtz+the 1st and potentially more.

I don't think see NYR making an offer unless they can somehow fit him but if they do offer Lafreniere then that could help Grier get a nice package out of NJ since Fitzgerald seems to be the GM the most keen on making a top 6 addition for someone with team control.

I think Knies would be of interest but ultimately unless there's a multi-player deal I don't see the Leafs making an offer for Meier that includes him.

Don't know much about Kulich but if he's a PWF or pure goal scorer then he'll probably be of interest as well.

I'd prefer the Devils giving up a 1st + Holtz over your suggested trade, though that would in my opinion be an overpayment in its own right.
