Why trade kapanen for Jesse when he's playing better? Also I feel like Casey is the better goalie he's just being overworked because of Jarry's injuries.

Can't see Carter waiving for Chicago, but if he does and Kaner will waive for Pittsburgh, Hawks probably accept

Apparently Hextall is "working hard" on a trade. At least that's what Burke said. He said there wont be any shakeup deals or doesnt want them to seem like it. I dont know what that's means in who were targeting but who knows. Burke said he likes the squad too so I think its gonna be another deadline similar to last season. Hopefully that changes and they realize we need to get a whole new 3rd line. Not just 1 or 2 depth moves

I mean if they can do what they did last season and get a Rakell equal while giving up very little that would actually be huge.

I was thinking Boeser tbh. Kapanen, Poulin, Legare, 2nd for Boeser with retention. Or make it a 1st and do Kane

Either of those sound good to me. Might be tricky to get retention on Boeser for multiple years. And I'd be willing to give up pretty much anything that isn't multiple firsts or Pickering to get Kane. Like it or not we still need to go for it in my opinion - even if this team doesn't look like a contender right now.

I still think, when healthy, the Top 6, 4th line, D group, and goaltending are competitive. They just need that 3rd line help.

Couldnt agree more. I hate it when pens fans give up and say to just blow it up. Do they not realise we still have ppg Sidney Crosby on this team? Along with his brothers Letang and Malkin. I hope Hextall pulls the trigger on some big moves. Whether Burke likes this team or not, we need to address that 3rd line or even get a top 6 winger and bump down Rust to the 3rd (Thatd be if we acquire someone like Kane and Boeser as mentioned)

I know lol - a week or two ago so many people were pushing to sell. We don't know how to deal with struggles tbh haha - a lot of us have never seen Pens struggles in our adult life. I hate to be the "well injuries" guy because this team does have its issues - but before Petry went down, and then multiple other injuries followed, we were tied with CAR for 2nd place.

Man I hope Hextall does too. I mean as much as we complain, they still know more about hockey than we do so they have to see the problems right? Like you said, it's the 3rd line - everyone can see it. The Rust move is something I've thought about too. He's always fit the mold of a good 3rd liner and as much as I hate breaking up that Zucker/Malkin/Rust line I think bumping him down could work

Yeah I've thought about that too. I mean we can't be mad at these players tbh. Theyve gone through a lot this year with injuries and it's just a whole different story with Letang. I think we should wait till the TDL to make any moves as that allows us the get more healthy and let's us see if it was injuries that was the main issue. Either way we should add a 3rd liner or 2 or get a top 6 winger and a 3rd liner

Couldn't agree more. See if they look any better here in the next couple weeks now that Letang and Petry are back. But no matter what they need to add at least one forward - whether it's a 3rd liner or a Top 6 that moves someone else down.

The one sliver lining for the Pens is that there is no 3v3 overtime or shootouts in the playoffs haha
