Pasta about to get paid big pending UFA... Bratt already good chem with the team and will take probably a lot less than what Pasta will make... wouldn't do this as Jersey.

Oh cmon. Bratt is UFA after next season, and the one year deal this year should set off alarm bells. All signs point to him really wanting to maximize his earnings as well.

Ya, you’re swapping scorers -
Pastrnak - 2nd in the NHL in goals
Bratt - 53rd.
Pastrnak - 3rd in the NHL in points
Bratt - 32nd

This season is Bratts second 40+ point season. Meanwhile Pastrnak has won a Richard trophy, and had 95 points in the covid shortened season.

Turning that down is bonkers.

I stand by what I said but it's all moot anyway; I don't think there's any way this happens. I think part of the reason the Bruins got Zacha was to try to secure Pasta's future there since they created a little Czech connection with Krejci. Not sure how much longer Krejci's sticking around, but they're obviously trying to use sentiment to try to get Pasta to stay. I don't want to know the 11+M contract Pasta is about to get elsewhere, but I don't believe that kind of salary structure is conducive to building a championship team so I wouldn't want to pay him that despite his merits, especially since he comes from a very good system in Boston and may not be as productive elsewhere.

I think they got and extended zacha because he’s been awesome, not because of what country he’s from.

Don't worry, the Bruins wouldn't be as stupid to make this deal straight up - the trolls are out today.

Zacha has been decent. Not worth 5 mill by a longshot

Yeah fair, they are hedging he keeps up form and gets to the 40+ point marker for his 4.75 would be my guess. It would have been a steal if they locked it in at 3.75 given what players are getting these days.

Also because he'd already been living and training with other NHL players in the area during the offseason. Even bought a house there years before getting traded to Boston.

No, i think it was just because he’s good at hockey.
