Buffalo would be silly to not accept that at the TDL imo

It was a shot in the dark really. Not sure any team would move some money for pick other than Buffalo and Arizona

You're trading a player that you aren't using for picks and another player you wont use, but if you do, is basically the same player. Easy trade to accept for Buffalo...

I feel.pretty strongly that is an overpay for Boeser.

I have been arguing on many threads that despite his shirt comings defensively, he has value - where a fair deal would be a good prospect and a 2nd, even with retention.

Here, you are moving two above average prospects. I would say one of Foote or Stillman with the pick gets it done. Both aboslutely should be of interest to Alvin (I say Foote would be preferred being more NHL ready, Stillman is still a year out at least).

The other part of this is moving a D prospect and a 2nd may have more value for Vancouver yet - and the Devils have a few of those as well.

Frankly I don't see the fit for Boeser in New Jersey, but, if you want him, I think you overpaid.

I was gonna say, I think that’s too much for Boeser. Take away 1 of Foote/Stillman and then maybe.

I have a slight tweak to your suggestions. If you wanna dump Johnsson why not plug him into the Canucks deal? It would even put the trade more and take out the need to send picks to another team

I just did Stillman as a buffer for another team possibly running up the price

Completely agree. This was a arbitrary decision . No reason exactly

Hino would be great if someone gets hurt. A 4th and a 7th are meaningless

they already have asplund sitting every game that can slot into the 4th line...
A 7th round pick isnt much, I grant you but...4th round picks playing this year:
Jeremy Swayman
TJ Brodie
Alec Martinez
Marcus Foligno
Mattias Ekholm
Johnny Gaudreau
Jaccob Slavin
Andrew Copp
Viktor Arvidsson
Ryan Graves
Michal Bunting
Igor Shesterkin
Should i keep going?

Correct but I still go by odds of a 4th making the nhl which is less than 45%

What are the odds Hinostroza ever plays for Buffalo again after this season vs that 4th round pick? I'd bet on the pick over the player at this point. invest in the future when you can

Please, there's like 900 players in the league but like 80 of them came from the 4th round and beyond. Totally a valid reason to collect every trash pick in the league. The Sabres prospect pool is so barren that these picks will have such an overwhelming impact on the future of the team

If you don't understand the economics of draft picks and the value of having tons of prospects in the pool (for signing or using as trade currency) I don't know what to tell you man. The pick can be used as a piece in another trade for all I care, but to call it a trash pick is just moronic. Do you not think GMs value any pick past the 3rd round? lmfao, no wonder your AGMs always look rediculous

My ACGMs look rediculous because I don't make flavor of the month, analytic nerd "draft pick economics" trades. Trade the better player in hopes we can red paper clip the 4th into an equal depth player 8 years don't the road. Totally worth everyones time

Johnsson actual salary for this year is only $2,500,000 including his signing bonus.
So the difference between Hinostroza and Johnsson salary is only $700,000.
If the trade was made on the TDL the Sabres would be purchasing a 4th and 7th for only $175,000, very inexpensive price for extra darts to throw on draft day.
BTW, the last time I checked Levi (212 overall) and Olofsson (181 overall) were 7th round picks.
Once Shibbal makes up his mind there is no reason to respond again, just move on, you will never convince him regardless of facts.

@Shaners79 Perfect TDL for Buffalo, Andreas is only one year removed from 35 pts and 13 goals in 71 games.
Could be a great addition if the Sabres were to squeek into the playoffs.
