It's not Smith personally, but what it represents. He was chosen over Tolvanen and has 2 goals to show for it. The Preds need to get younger and faster forwards with high scoring ability, not continue loading up on NHL/AHL fringe guys. Preds fans want out of the mediocrity pool. 1st round exits as the WC2 aren't going to be celebrated like they were 15 years ago.

Not to mention he’s in the lineup over Tomasino, who had about 1/2 a ppg last year, and has had a far longer leash than most of our younger players this year.
