Correct. I saw the same rumor though, but someone, I believe Jfresh, also said Vejmelka may be involved in this deal because they'd be sending Brandt.

Jfresh doesn't have sources.

Others have been reporting this as well. Not sure if it's just a game of telephone, but I've seen it elsewhere. LA has been reported to have been looking into Vejmelka for a while.

honestly don't know why the yotes would trade vejmelka right now. he's good but he's not keeping them from losing games, and he's young enough to potentially be a part of a competitive window. they don't have a good goalie prospect in the system really and these aren't good goalie drafts coming up. i guess you can trade or sign one later but does AZ really want to continue to tear it down to the studs or start actually building something?

? Chychrun is younger and signed for the same term as Vejmelka. If Chychrun doesn't fit their timeline, then neither does he. They'll have to re-sign him before their window opens anyway.

hasn't chychrun wanted out for a long time though? that's why all the trade speculation began after they initially were like "we're not moving him"

Vejmelka is very good. He may not be keeping them from losing games, but he's keeping them in the games and giving them a chance to win. They just can't score enough. Putting him on a team with a serviceable defense and the ability to score will allow him to truly shine.
