Why do you always sign Killorn and Hathaway in your ACGMs. They're not worth that.

I don’t think you’re getting anyone off New Jersey’s roster they’re looking to trades futures IMO

He's just a pup. He'd be 34 at end of deal.

      Hertl, 36
      Karlsson, 37
      Couture, 38
      Vlassic, 39

Signing Severson to that term is a mistake. Bedard doesn't sign that contract (with no bonus). The going rate for the # 1 overall is 3m in potential bonuses. See how quickly the cap disappears?

37 in Burns years is like 26 in human years.

I'd be A-ok with Nemec (I know Hughes is untouchable). But if Nemec is also an absolute no-go too along with Mercer, I hope that a deal doesn't get done between the two teams. Would rather keep Meier than get a Holtz package.

Then I think we'd be at a stalemate and the Devils are better off moving on. I know too many Devil fans seem to have talk themselves into Meier or bust, but there has to be a limit.

Not really sure what other team gives you more than a Holtz package for a player you really shouldn't hold onto, and especially one that can easily say "Nah, just give me my QO so I can move on next year."

If you want to do as you did with Hertl and just pretend everything will be fine, cool, keep Meier and try to extend him. But in the end you can't halfway your way to a rebuild as you won't have the big player assets to turn everything around. You'll just have a team that constantly drafts between 6th and 12th for many years, all of which avoid a franchise player at the top and see all the players you signed to big contract age out as that new crop of what should still be good players hit their window.
