Yes in theory. Would only work if Murray is done for the year.

Bold assumption on Murray, also I'm not super sold that Holl, Niemela, Robertson and the 1st would be enough to land both Kane and Toews PLUS retention on both. I don't know what the package should look like to reel them both in, but I'd imagine Davidson would be asking for an extra steep price to send both of them to the same team.

It is possible, but not with that return for Chicago.

This trade would handicap them from making any additional moves to take on Cap and gather more draft picks like most basement teams tend to do. For them to keep $10.5M in cap they would need much much more than a middle pairing D, two B level prospects and a 1st round pick.

This trade would start with Sandin + Knies and at least one 1st if not two..

It actually isn't that big of a deal for CHI. They are both pending UFA's, CHI has plenty of cap space, and their actual cash salary owed for this season is only $2.9M each, which is far less by the time the deadline rolls around. It is pretty much a given that if either of them are traded they will need retention. But I definitely wouldn't mind taking Knies and Sandin and more 1st round picks back! haha.
