Detroit would have no interest in DeSmith, And a 2nd that's 3 drafts away has no value to us.

Hawks decline. They wouldn't trade Domi with no retention straight up for Smith. Smith is not a need for the Hawks.

If you want Detroit to bite you'll have to add Hållander and bring the pick forward a year. You're not keeping Hållander anyway so how about it?

Dumoulin would be a nice addition if the Sabres were thinking of making a run at the playoffs.
Hållander has a small chance to be in the NHL so getting him and Brian for a 4th is the sort of deal Karmanos may complete.
