Cool story man, but just because you say you're not trading a first doesn't mean Anaheim will let Henrique go with salary retention for anything less. If you had a top prospect we were interested in then we might be able to work something out, but the only top prospects you have are at LD where we don't need anyone.

Yeah I saw an Athletic trade deadline article which suggested Henrique as a lot of teams back up plans, and he seemed way to cheap to acquire in their estimations. I'd love to have a retained Henrique for under a 1st, but it seems pretty cheap

Why is that? Yzerman takes the pick that has the most value. Namestnikov was traded for a 2024 4th round pick.

That article is what is based off I think in the article they had him going to Carolina for 2 and 3. But I couldn't find it again. It was players perfect trades and what they are worth. Something like that.

Ducks can get any return without a 1st next year. Cap space is more valuable than its ever been and a year and a half retention is alot. Rico is scoring at the same 5v5 pace as Horvat over the past 3 years, he easily gets a 1st. Just because teams may want Meier or whomever more doesnt make Rico less valuable.
