I like the idea of PP going to Columbus. I think there is a good fit for him there to try to get things on track.

Being with laine would be good for him.

My thoughts exactly. Would be worth the risk for Columbus in my mind. Very little negative, with a ton of potential upside.

Not sure EDM moves two of their D pieces. Also no other teams linked to Karlsson so not sure SJ gets what they want. This is close, could see them swapping Schaefer for bourgault though.

This team has 11 forwards, and no 4th line C
And Nyqvist is on the LTIR, how is he going to come off?

I think adding a late pick would make sense, like a 4th or 5th

Also good for EDM. Gus goes on LTIR until playoffs and they use his cap hit for EK.

San Jose doesn’t have to move him though, Grier mentioned he isn’t pressured into moving a 100 point defenseman. I don’t see Edmonton affording a guy like Bouchard next season after acquiring Meier once he’s resigned.

LOL. The trade above is already too rich - even Grier himself poured cold water on the idea he was asking for 3 firsts - they aren't going to pay even more.

He said it was taken out of context, he didn’t deny that was the ask. And that was with 18% retention not 26%. If the oilers acquire Karlsson they can’t afford Bouchard next season anyway might as well move him

Nyquist is out until the playoffs. So he stays on LTIR until it doesn’t matter cap wise.

Once he’s back. You move Derek Ryan to 4C and play Nyquist on the 3rd line or move Holloway to line 4. Again I’m not an oilers fan so just guessing.
