Don’t think the Canes have much interest at all in Dadonov.

Unless you're offering one of Caufield or Suzuki Holtz isn't available

I'd also trade Holtz for Hutson or Dach

Dach yes, Hutson maybe in terms of value, but in the next 5 years I'd rather play all of Hughes, hamilton Siegs, Marino, Nemec over Hutson, and would be 50/50 on graves considering playstyle. Also we already have an undersized offensive dman coming up in Casey. And Shakir, Vilen, Walsh, Bahl, Okhotyuk as young dmen/prospects.

Context would have to be right for Hutson. Casey would have to be dealt for Meier at minimum.

You are absolutely out of your mind if you think Hotlz is on the same level as those two.

If anything Montreal should be paying New Jersey to take on Josh Andersons awful contract

Josh Anderson still isn’t worth that price.

If Habs want Johnsson as reclamation project, they can sign him in the off-season

It would be holtz+ for them, but the main point is that those + dach are the only habs worth putting holtz into a trade for

Yeah I'd say if at least 2 prospect/young dmen (bahl/nikita/vilen/walsh/Casey/Shakir) are dealt, we have meier, and somehow still have holtz, I'd be open to doing something like holtz for Hutson potentially. Still feel as tho we'd be stronger on D than F tho.

but long term:
Palat Hischier Bratt
Arseni/Yegor Hughes Meier
Yegor/Arseni Mercer Holtz/Zetterlund
4th line doesnt really matter.

I'd say really depends on who they have in this obviously ridiculous scenario, and how Arseni/Zetterlund develop.

Although I can't see a way to get meier without moving one of Arseni/Holtz/Yegor/Zetterlund from the forward group anyway

I think you're a bit too optimistic on Gritsyuk relative to Holtz. If either of them are going to be top 6 players, it's Holtz

Canes have good enough forwards that I don’t think ED is a target
Of theirs. Don’t think he really moves the needle.

You're probably right. I'm really high on Gritsyuk personally tho
