I thought they weren’t going to trade first + for rentals…

Edit: I’d imagine more will be done because look at the cap space

I mean look, this is significant. I'm not sure O'Reilly is worth a 1st, 2nd and 3rd, but TOR just got a lot better.

Can't wait to see what this does to the value of others now.

Well yeah, they reject anything that has anything of quality leaving their team and yes, it is a lot. Still, TOR just got a sh*t ton better. They held on to key prospects though.

Holy moly.

We also got Acciari.

I was hoping the Leafs would give up a prospect, damn that's a lot of picks gone though.

Good chance that they can resign O'Reilly next year.

I think it drives it up. I thought Horvat/Tarasenko went for much less than I though. O'Reilly here went for much more. Really interesting

Horvat and Tarasenko got less of a return than I thought they would. Led me to think players might not be as expensive this time around. But O'Reilly here got a bigger return than I though he would. So moral of the story I dont know how things will look in 1-2 weeks but am interested to see

Moral of story, Dubas continues to overpay for rentals. Remember Nick Foligno for a 1st? Leafs fans claimed that Dubas learned from his lesson.

Imagine if he sat there and did nothing while Boston and Tampa added key players. He obviously was going to make a big move and in my opinion this was the right one that's going to make the team much better. O'Reilly is also much better than Foligno was at the time we traded for him.

High risk, high reward. The Leafs have to win now. They can't afford to lose in the first round again after paying for a big fish rental

The one take away is the only took a 4th to get MIN to retain $1.875M.
