I'd love to know how this is too much because there is zero incentive for the caps to make that trade. Like it's awful.

See you're approaching this from a normal thinking human being, not a Leaf fan's perspective. From a normal thinking persons perspective Washington is giving up a solid player on a manageable contract and getting back a cap dump who's not going to sign with them, a mid tier prospect at best a very late third round pick and a very late first round pick.

From a Leaf's fan perspective. Washington is getting an elite prospect, 2 draft picks and a useful center for Wilson who might be a 3rd liner. Hope that helps

Hawks decline. They'll get better offers for Lafferty
