I like Mantha quite a lot but that's an insane price to pay for him considering his current level of play and treatment by the team.

Yeah that Mantha trade is not accurate value. I'd ask for a second round pick and cross my fingers.

I wouldn’t pay that for Mantha, and I’m a pretty big fan of him as well. Could be better justified if this was a year ago, but his value has tanked since then

I think that the Preds are looking for a prospect instead of a pick for Jeannot

I know the 1st is a reach, but it is a 2024 and the Caps would be covering half is salary for that season as well, freeing up 2.5 million for another run next year.

What is the obsession with Jennot? He's a bottom 6 player. No way I'm paying a 1st for him. Maybe a 3rd.

Really? I know the last 2 season have been polar opposites and his average probably falls at 15ish goals and 20 assists- 35 points - but he is a total pain in the as* to play against. Building a roster isn't just about getting the best point producing players. When you have to go out on the ice every other shift against Wilson and someone like Jennot, plus this lineup with Oshie who is a pain, Pulj whose best trait is defense, Ovi who still is a pain to get hit by. That is 4 lines that have guys who are hard to play against. Jennot has skill to play with Backstrom on the 3rd line, which makes Backstrom better. Roster construction

Honestly, if we can get a 1st in this draft class, I'm running with it.

I like him, I'm just not paying a 1st for him unless they throw Fabbro in.
