DET
Petey is an Elite two way center with a 96 war card. He is 4th in even strength scoring, first in Pk scoring, 8th in league Scoring, and 21st in goal. Canucks would never trade Petey unless they had to even then it would take a huge offer for the Canucks to part ways with him.

I think the value is there but at this point Detroit is in no position to give up that much for a single player.

Detroit says yes, but drop the 1st or Edvinsson or Kasper. Preferably keep Kasper in Detroit.

You sold my “Kasper, Ed, Ras, picks” for “EP40?”

Yeah, I'll pass. Pettersson is great, but not giving up all this for him. We're trying to finish off the rebuild, and Kasper, Ed and this year's first are hopefully big parts to ending the rebuild.

I think Edvinsson, Ras and a 1st is fair. 25 year old top 10 centers don't often hit the market. Edvinsson has top pair potential, but Detroit already has the 1D, plus Albert Johansson and William Wallinder also at LD, plus Shai Buium. Trading a potential top pair D, a 1st round pick that could be anything, and a middle 6 two way forward with top 6 capabiility for a surefire 1C. This is a no brainer. Adding Kasper is too much though.

Honestly, I'd consider it if we could replace Kasper or Edvinsson with one of our 2024 1sts instead

No. You have to give to get. Any trade involving Pettersson would have to guarantee that the team acquiring him overpays. There is just no way the Canucks lose a Pettersson trade. His value is so high that it isn't worth it for teams to try to trade for him
