Why is Buffalo trading a 3rd and Comrie for a career AHL forward? They can just bury Comrie if he can't get it together and save the pick.

In terms of cap, fit, and asset cost, EDM has less-than-zero interest in such a move.

No incentive for Washington to do this with Fehervary, Sandin, and Alexeyev on the left side, and they can't take his cap hit anyway.

You say that as if Fehervary and Alekseyev are competent NHL players.

Yes, because they are. Alexeyev has a small sample size but now or never for him with no waiver exemption and he’s played well. Fehervary has been a good NHL defenseman for 2 years now.

Fehervary is one of the worst defensemen in the entire league

That is not even close to true lmao. He’s been one of the best young defensemen since he broke into the league, even when paired with a partner who can be a defensive liability in Carlson.

GAR for dmen age 23 & under (2022-23):

1. Rasmus Dahlin 18.2
2. Quinn Hughes 17.6
3. Cale Makar 14.4
4t. Owen Power 9.7
4t. Juuso Valimaki 9.7
6. Philip Broberg 8.2
7. Evan Bouchard 8.1
8. Jordan Harris 7.5
9. Pierre-Olivier Joseph 6.9
10t. Jake Sanderson 5.6
10t. Martin Fehervary 5.6
12. Mikey Anderson 4.9
13. K'Andre Miller 4.7
14. Dylan Samberg 4.6
15. Cam York 4.3
16. Rasmus Sandin 4.1
17. Braden Schneider 3.9
18t. Bowen Byram 3.5
18t. Timothy Liljegren 3.5
20. Sean Durzi 3.3
21. Adam Boqvist 3.2

Trading one of the caps best prospects and a likely Top 10 pick for a defenseman that’s older and costs far more just to replace Fehervary who is already playing well is something that isn’t based in reality.
