If the Sabres have to retain on Olofsson to just get a fifth round pick they might as well keep him, sheesh.

Vancouver has been doing a lot of dumb things, but I think they'll demand more for those 2 players.

Demko is not a cap dump. Garland is arguable but honestly seems to be if you aren't producing like McDavid on an ELC you are overpaid. Demko isn't going to be traded until next years deadline at the earliest. Allvin and JR want a retool Demko means full on rebuild. I do think someone will want Garland for pick and or in a hockey deal for a defenceman to help rebuild the backend.

Canucks pass.Demko is OUR goalie of the future.
Demko is 3-1 since he returned to action, has not allowed more than 2 goals in any game and has a .939 SV% over those 4 games.
Isak Rosen is doing well but he is only a prospect.
Comrie has little if any value now (more of a cap dump).
Jokiharju is one of the Sabre fans favorite whipping boys, but he led all D-Men last night with 27:00 TOI and 1:16 TOI SH. He is much better than the Sabre fans think.
Allvin would reject this offer.
@NeedTheCleanser take out Comrie and add.

@NeedTheCleanser
I think you are significantly undervaluing Olofsson.
He needs a good set forward to excell.
He has been playing with Krebs and Peterka the last 10 games.
He did very well when MIttelstadt and Jost were his line mates.
Put him on a line with Pettersson or Miller and he will get the Canucks 30 or more goals.

Let's consider Jokiharju for Garland.
While Sabre fans love to trash Henri, this is probably very close to his value.
Buffalo needs right hand shots so this would be a nice hockey trade.

GK rarely return more than a first so Rosen would be a decent offer if he fit the needs of the Canucks.
Unfortunately, the Canucks are not looking to trade Demko so it would take an over pay, Isaak is not an over pay.

Restructure your two trades.
Garland and Demko for Jokiharju, Olofsson (50% retention), and Krebs/Rosen/2023 first.
Canuck fans would probably still reject this but it is offers more value than your proposal.

You aren’t taking any bad salary though. Demko has a great contract, and Garland is worth his contract despite having a down year. The reported asking price for Demko alone is a blue chip prospect, a 1st, and a Raty-level prospect. Then you’d have to add another piece for Garland

Absolutely a great contract. A top 5-10 goalie at 5M for another 3 seasons after this season. People only look at his 15 bad games while injured at the start of the season, but ignore his elite season last year, great season in 2020-21, and the fact he’s been elite again since returning from injury

He absolutely is on a steal of a contract. Just look what goalies are going for now. Complete duds like Campbell and Grubauer making 5+.
