Additional Details:
The biggest reason the picks are the way they are is because of Allen being on a 2 year, 3.85 million AAV contract still. Plus I think the asking price here is not crazy for the fact that Hart will become their new franchise goalie which models his game after Price.

PHI
  1. 2024 5th round pick (TBL)
Additional Details:
This could be any team that is just looking for a cheap good back up that will play maybe 20-25 games a year. He puts up good number behind a bad team just like Hart.

Boy, that seems kinda cheap to be sending Konecny to a division rival.

I agree with you here. What do you think is a good value? Two Firsts and prospects maybe?

    It's worth considering for Montreal.
I'm not sure Hart is "the" guy, but I personally feel Montembeault definitely is "not" the guy.

We may be able to do better with less assets, but goaltenders are always risky and as long as we have another in the pipeline (Dobes, Hrabal?), I'm willing to trade for someone further along once.

Well, for starters, I would not let them defer the picks to '24. Ask for their 23 1st, for sure.

I know goalie returns are never what fans might expect but that feels like a really cheap price for a 24 year old goalie that is still being viewed as the franchise goalie. Even if the Flyers rebuild takes 5 years he'd be 29 and you should build from the back out imo. With how we are seeing goalie age into their 30's there's no reason to feel like that's too old

LA is not prepared to sell low on Turcotte.

Its an agressive overpay by the habs. A goalie hasnt gone for a lottery pick since schneider and corey at the time was a top 5 goalie. Hart is worth maybe a late 1st

Florida is 1 point out of the playoffs... I'd understand you saying that if it was the Habs first and there would likely be protection on the pick

It's an aggressive move for sure. I don't think it's the right time either. We can ride out Allen and go UFA while waiting on development of a guy, or we can make a move for someone with some development already, who might be ready when the rest of the team is.
I'd be much more comfortable with our 2nd and a 3rd instead of a 5th, as a 1st is an overpay based on precedent. There's room for debate however. Maybe this is where the discussion starts and maybe there's a more palatable deal to come from it.
Like would Philly add one of their 2nds from next year to compromise?
They may be able to sell Allen as a rental for a 3rd(ish) later on to recoup value.
Maybe they take Montembeault instead who they may decide to keep around longer.
Maybe Florida reaches the conference finals and the value of the 1st is more reasonable.
Maybe our 2nd is enough if Hrabal is their target.
