Gotcha. Value wise though for a team that's similar to Buffalo in draft standing (8-12 maybe around there), do you think this is fair?

Assuming there was desire to extend? yeah probably. He's a little older than I thought, so Id assume an actual deal may involve other assets on either side to balance it out. But as the framework its definitely what Id ask for if I were PIT

Boston has to shed cap can’t add to it. Don’t need middle 6 center, don’t need wing.

The Sabres don't need forwards really, top 6 is set with 2 more rookies coming up next year

We don’t need forwards who are good defensively? I must be watching the wrong team

To start they need dmen who are good defensively. They'll have Greenway and probably resign Jost and they can bring up Biro, or Rousek as well

I always find it interesting how teams fans think a player is worth a 1st and then on the next post you will see other teams taking on said player for a 1st. That’s pettersson in this case

I don't think Guentzel has a NMC. Rust I did to Minnesota, I believe he's from that area so good candidate

Bro we must be watching two different teams. Greenway sucks. Biro is a career AHLer and Rousek isn’t good defensively. Their forwards don’t help their defense. That’s why losing tuch hurt so much. They’re thin on competent two way forwards

The Penguins don't play defense so don't know we can help you there haha

Greenway will have an entire summer to work with Granato and had been playing well defensively before the trade. Biro is one of the best defensive forwards in the A. They couldn't score because Tuch wasn't there to play defense? Or was it because Samuelsson has been in and out, Dahlin was out and seems to be playing hurt, and their next best pair has been Stillman - Lybushkin. Tuch being out hurt, but their D core is atrocious aside from anything else. Doesn't matter if their forwards help out or not, It's the worst 6 in the league in their own end. Bryson needs to go and Jokiharju needs to show improvement this summer or be shipped out

He said top six. I hope they have at least an upgrade on fourth line for defensive play and couple better D

I don't think Crosby, Malkin or Letang, will agree with most of these moves. You haven't really made the team better in any way, and probably have moved from a quick(ish) retool to a full on rebuild.

A rebuild won't be popular, but it's the right thing to do for the team going forward. The fastest way to another cup is for us to rebuild, that's exactly what I was going for here
