Description

Forward and goaltending are better in my mind. Dcorp still needs work but they have some young guys, who should be able to take a step forward.

Probably a bubble team but substantially better than this year.

Both are pretty much equal this year in GSAx, so in this scenario they get an equivalent goaltender at 1/5 of Samsonov's cap hit + a top 40 pick. Habs pass.

Monty is a top10 goalie saves above expected. He was a legit prospect in Florida. Paid 1 million next year. Habs wouldnt make this deal. A high 2nd rnd pick is more than enough for a goalie like Samsonov

How they forget Samsonov and his issues. The cap hit difference will be massive.

First, Domi won't sign to be bump on a third lines in Mtl.

Samsonov isn't the solution... and Leafs won't do it.

The Jets aren't interested in Dvorak...They have Lowry who is more complete as a third line center...

The priority for the habs is trading Edmundson,Wideman, Pitlick and Armia. None of these players could bring the Habs to the next stage.

Dubois, the patience is a virtue. Wait and develop your young players to see if there a fit.. To my opiniion, it's not the time to waste a 1st round pick at this stage of a rebuild.

No from Winnipeg. Dvorak is injured and doesn't have enough value for the Jets to gamble on him being a significant part of the return.

Unless the price is reasonable unlike this deal, no thanks. But goalies typically dont hold as much value as this ACGM suggests.

Sorokin and Helle will both be free agents in 2024 there are always goalies available. Monty is found money. Building from the net out is a mistake.
