Kings decline. They wont over pay for a LHD rental like that. Unless it comes with an extension no chance, learning from the Gavy situation here.

Would have to be a 1st + Kaliyev (or another Top Young Up & Coming Prospect, like Quinton Byfield, Brandt Clarke or Francesco Pinelli) + Helge Grans + Matt Roy to entice CGY to even start discussing the idea of Trading Hanifin, who likely only gets moved if he doesn't sign an extension with CGY this off-season

Probably be Cheaper & Easier to acquire Kylington or Zadorov

No chance we trade Kaliyev for one season of Noah Hanifin.

I like Hanifin’s game, but this is excessive.

If Hanifin had an extension in place Kaliyev becomes a bit more of a discussion, a 1st plus Kaliyev for a season of Hanifin would never get the conversation started. Even with an extension, he's a really really good piece in any top 4 around the league but I don't think teams will be chomping at the bit to acquire him, he's a perfect 2LD on a good team and a good 1LD, him playing behind Weegar for the next 8 years is best case scenario.

There is absolutely no way trading Hanifin to get another pending UFA defenseman makes any sense regardless of if Someone like Kaliyev is attached. We already have a bunch of prospects trying to push for spots and Kaliyev isn't any better than them. What we dont have is a clear answer on our 4 of our 6 blue liners for the 24/25 season
