This doesn’t seem close to fair value for Marino.
I get that Beauvillier has been playing better with the Canucks but he is still closer to a capdump than the top 6 fwd / high-end goalie the Devils would be looking for when dealing Marino (Bennett, Saros, Hellebuyck etc).
Just because Hextall traded Marino for an underwhelming return doesn’t mean that Fitzgerald will for an even worse return.
Honestly I do not see any Marino trade to the Canucks that’d make sense for the Devils.

Demko?

I could maybe see Marino for Demko straight up if the Devils would consider resigning Severson but I think they have little appetite to add. I’d also like to see if Demko can rebound next year because he hasn’t been better than what the Devils have now in VV and Schmid.

The Marino and Garland trades are solid but Myers won't get us a 3rd and we won't retain any money on him after July 1. Like the idea of Dellandrea but we'd need to add a lot more to get someone like him, I'd be looking at someone like Joe Veleno from DET has not lived up to expectations and could maybe have a swap of prospects.

i agree we likely dont retain just wanted to put the retention to represent cap coming back which would be likely. Ive used kassian in a few other ACGMs

to call beauvillier close to a cap dump is pretty ridiculous

definitely a capable middle 6 winger whos still only 25. Makes the same as Marino and Marino isnt much more than a 3/4 guy

And no reason the devils should trade a young RD on a great deal with term just entering his prime

i agree, if im the devils id let seversn walk first. like i said in the team, its not my idea, i seen a few devils ACGMs looking to move him a forward. Beauvillier not the only forward on the canucks

Demko?

If the Canucks are trading Demko it probably means that they intend to tank for a year or two, as they have no other viable starters from what I can see.
Wouldn't make sense for them to ask for Marino back in return in such a scenario.

I wouldn't want the Devils to trade for Demko at this point in time anyway.
The cost of acquiring Demko would be way too high to justify the risk of him not getting back to his previous superstar levels, injury asied he's been genuinely terrible in net this year.

Didn't say that Beauvillier is an actual cap dump (though he was traded as one just a couple of weeks ago), just saying that he's closer to a capdump than the type of forward talent the Devils would be looking for when dealing Marino.

As of now there are 10 forwards on the Devils roster I'd take ahead of Beauvillier: Hughes, Hischier, Meier, Bratt, Mercer, Palat, Tatar, Haula, Boqvist, Bastian.
Wouldn't make much sense for the Devils to deal a 2nd pair RHD for a winger not living up to his cap hit and that doesn't bring anything to the team that isn't already there.

You're right in that Marino 'isn't much more than a 3/4 guy', but those kinds of RHDs are way more valuable than a dime-a-dozen winger with consistency issues like Beauvillier.
I'd think you'd understand that as a Canucks fan, but apparently not.

True. But I don't see any forwards on the Canucks roster that it'd make sense to give Marino up for.
Boeser, Mikheyev and Garland certainly aren't it.

huge difference between being a cap dump and being in a trade to make the cap work

Beauvillier isn't what we mean by top 6 forward. We already have similar talent players in Tatar/Palat/Yegor. And then Obviously Mercer/Bratt/Meier as our 3 best wingers. So he has no value to us. Dermott also not valuable. Its an awful offer for a quality RHD
