Description
I saw one Columbus fan say they would do Peeke for Strome, so Im running with it

Bringing in two big shutdown defenseman should bring our record breaking 40 shots against average down a bit for a developing Dostal and an aging Gibson

Bring in Boeser to replace Strome as our top 6 RW. Bigger cap hit but shorter term so gives the rebuild some more flexibility without compromising veteran presence.

Not sure what exactly the price is for Edmundson

Peeke's value to CBJ is probably higher than what the market says. Frankly, it'd probably be a 1st+-type ask. A quality 2LD+ with term would also work (as a Gavvy replacement).

Well considering Anaheim is also in the market for a 2LHD, and not willing to part with a 1st, we are probably not the destination. But at a lowered price, he is an attractive option to this team

Jarmo loves Peeke, I highly doubt he gets traded at this offseason unless Boqvist and Blankenburg so show that they can stay healthy for an 82 game season. Which they haven’t done.

My guess is that it would take at least a 2nd+ for jarmo to move Peeke right now, that being said Peeke would be so much better on the 3rd pair, he really isn’t a top pair defenseman yet.

What about Jackson LaCombe? One of our highly routes LHD youngins fresh out of NCAA. May be able to add a mid round pick to further balance.

I think Strome would perform very well with Jonny Hockey and Laine, he's shown to produce well with elite wing talent where he can play a simpler game (win the faceoff, stand in front of the net).

I wanted a Strome last offseason. I don’t care for Peeke. I like both parts of the deal, but not the deal itself if that makes sense. I feel like a team closer to contention in need of a defensive RD like Buffalo or Vancouver would give up more a better package for Columbus than Ryan Strome, and Anaheim probably could do the same for Strome.

This trade was discussed a little in this AGCM last night:
https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/4093307

I would do the Peeke for Strome trade because I think it is a better option than the rumored Hayes trade with Philly.
Yes, I know we have a good chance at drafting a Center in the 1st round this year that may make this moot.
Worst case, Strome is probably an upgrade over Roslovic and possibly Jenner at Center and we can evaluate the options and figure out who stays, who goes and who gets moved to wing.

I don’t like either option tbh. Neither contract seems worth it. Both players will be 34-35 when their contracts are up and to me that screams bad end of the contract. I’d say Hayes is the better player but he would also cost more.

I’d rather trade Boqvist if we are trading anyone because at least Peeke can stay healthy and is a decent enough 3rd pair RHD where as Boqvist is constantly injured and really only does anything on the PP where he will lose his ice time to a healthy Werenski.

That makes sense, honestly. I am sure if a contending team needs a 3rd pairing guy to fill out the roster, they may offer more. I think Anaheim front office is higher on Strome than myself, but I would not mind to see him go. I would even consider throwing in a b level prospect but that is likely all Anaheim can afford to send over.

Strome has played a lot of wing this year and in my opinion actually looked a little better as he hasnt been fantastic defensively
