Description
Think the PIT move is extra tbf but others are possible.

Prepared to get slated by PIT fans wanting to replenish the prospect pool with a decent pick.

The idea however is that PIT get a 20 goal scorer under league minimum to keep the dream alive that Sid and Malkin can have another run....

Not entirely sure I'm happy with this ACGM but putting it out to the public for feedback.

I like Murphy, but I am not giving up a 2nd and Rosen. Rosen is having a good year in the AHL. Poltapov, Kisakov, Neuchev could be added.

Understandable, we should probably be keeping Murphy also but was intrigued to see what the consensus would be.

Good thoughts. I personally wouldn't be doing that PIT trade. 100% understood that moving up into not just the 1st, but (assuming) mid 1st. Costs a lot. Seems like KD wants to maximize long term picks rather than immediate return...when trading assets vs cap dump situations. Just looking at his history. Wouldn't surprise in the least if he held TRad until the TDL and asked for a 2026 or 2027 1st even.

I do wonder when he changes from that thought process. I do agree that TRad is more likely a TDL move due to the likelihood his value increases and I think that is the most likely outcome.

This proposal comes from the idea of selling whilst value is high and taking advantage instead of what happened with Strome and Kubalik. Not to say that will happen but just spitballing the idea at the very least. Losing them for nothing was a loss IMO.

I'm probably in the minority on Kubalik/Strome and even DeHaan. That was his 1st year as GM and when he comes out and says...the value wasn't meet so that means these guys mean more to us than the "market"... That can have long term benefits. Hey other GMs. When trading with me, I'm not backing down and taking whatever you're willing to give. It's certainly something that can't be tangibly proven, but if you've got a track record of trading Kubalik for a 3rd or DeHaan for a 6th...that sets a precedent that other GMs will try to use on Hagel or even these cap dumps he's been acquiring. Did KD "lose" on Strome/Kubalik...IMO in the short term maybe, but in the long term I think it's a good move.

Pens say yes. Gives us a legit 3rd line scoring winger who can jump into the top 6 if injuries happen.

I think the Buffalo trade is close to what the Hawks would pull the trigger on to move Murphy. Make the 2nd a '24 or '25 and probably need the Hawks to throw in 4th to make that second a bit less painful as Rosen is a nice prospect.

Meyers will not cost an asset to move (he likely gets an asset) as he has a 5 million bonus and then is only owed 1 once that is paid. That is an Arizona special....1 million salary to get a 6 million cap hit.

TRad with his contract is honestly probably worth a first or darn close so definitely would not be including a 2nd and probably not the Hawks 3rd (which is essentially a late 2nd).

He’s a good physical defensive player. Not good offence. His concussion issues little concerning. Sure wouldn’t trade Rosen for him. He may be great one

Sounds like what the Sabres need honestly.

He’s valued at 2.1m and paid 4.4m. Better option in ufas Mayfield or Gudas. His worth is declining.

He is very much a player the Sabres could do with. Solid Stay at Home D Man who's physical. He's also played 77 games this year so no issues

The debatable part is the value and trade proposal required. We need his cap and his leadership is good around the young D Core (He wears an "A")

Mayfield is not a bad shout in the UFA market but good luck beating out the other teams getting him to come to Buffalo. Also his term would be longer even if his cap is less than Murphy's effecting the long term.

Overall Murphy would be a solid option for the Sabres.
