One of the better ACGM’s I’ve seen in a while.

Think you really nailed the CHI deal.

Yeah but the odds of a 5th pick working out is <15%, So it's unlikely either will make a noticeable impact.

He's better than he gets credit for. He's playing above his pay grade, he needs a few less minutes and he would be good. He's a third pairing guy that can move up to the second pairing. He was playing top pair alot this year.

If Edm offers that to Chi, I believe Davidson says yes.

Tarasenko is done. Not worth that money.
Why is everyone giving up on Foegele he’s playing very well lately, you can get a better deal for him.

He's played nothing but top pair this year and last. And the way Woodcroft ran his pairings was the first got all the hard competition while the 2nd and 3rd pairings got sheltered. Until Ekholm arrived.

Ceci is far better than he gets credit for here, and is worth more than a measly 5th.

Dickie isn't an Oilers fan. He just goes off general narratives on this site without actually looking at the facts.

tarasenko isnt done and foegle is fine but getting paid almost 3 mil, he is a cap dump because the oilers need that freed up cap. tarasenko may not be the best move but it isnt a bad one

You realize that Foegele's scoring rates at 5v5 are better than Tarasenko's this year, right?

Looking at the stats, Ceci and Murphy appear to be pretty equal. Murphy's defensive numbers are a little better but he hasn't played as difficult competition as Ceci has, who has been hard matched against the league's best players for the past 2 years. Ceci contributes more offensively.

So you've sent out Yamamoto + 1st + 2nd for a 3rd + 5th and you didn't improve the team.

Not a fan of retaining 2.2 for 3 full seasons Murphy, but the more first rounders you can acculumalte, the better your odds of finding guys that can a) play in the NHL and b) do it at a high level. Yamamoto seems like he will perpetually struggle to stay healthy, but why not take a gamble as the Hawks do need to still field a team and maybe his injury luck improves.
